Reflecting on my continued journey as a leader beyond the Leadership Studies Minor.
As I move out of college, I plan to continue learning and growing as a leader by seeking out new experiences and challenges that push me beyond my comfort zone. I will actively seek diverse perspectives and remain open to feedback to adapt and improve my leadership approach. This will be most applicable in my passion for Hackathon and 3rd space development where I hope to maintain my network in Boulder to support. My biggest challenge is going to be adjusting to a new schedule without school. I will have to be self motivated to develop a consistent schedule for myself and work to maintain my engagement and productivity. I will also seek out mentorship to help guide my growth and provide accountability. I am really looking forward to having free time to work on projects and pursuits I had not previously had time for while in school. So this will be a good change for me.
How do I want my leadership to show up in technical spaces after graduation—on project teams, in hackathons, and in early-career roles—and what concrete behaviors will signal that I am leading, not just contributing?
What kind of relationship do I want to have with power, responsibility, and wellbeing in digital contexts, and how will that influence the boundaries, cultures, and systems I create or support?
One goal I have post graduation is to get HackCU12 in a place where I am very content. My goal was to grow the amount of participants to 350, and provide more community building opportunities.
Since I am not going to be in school, I will have more time to work on these projects and events, my biggest worry is if I will be able to maintain the same level of engagement and motivation without the structure of the academic environment.
