The Peyton Heart Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of suicide and bullying and supporting affected individuals and their families through community building initiatives. As an ambassador and later Vice President, I had the opportunity to lead initiatives that promoted mental health and suicide prevention education, organized fundraising events, and collaborated with local nonprofits and schools to enhance community outreach. This role significantly enhanced my leadership skills, particularly in communication, teamwork, and event planning. It also deepened my understanding of the importance of advocacy and community engagement in driving social change.2021-Now
Presidents Leadership Class (PLC) is a interdisciplinary leadership development program at CU Boulder that selects a diverse group of students to build community around Leadership, Service, and Social Justice. As a member of PLC, I have engaged in various leadership workshops, service projects, and local initiatives. This experience has been instrumental in shaping my leadership philosophy, emphasizing the importance of inclusive leadership and social responsibility. Through PLC, I have developed critical skills in collaboration, empathy, and strategic thinking, through the courses for the Leadership Studies Minor which have been invaluable in both my academic and extracurricular pursuits.2023-Now
Atlas Institute for Creative Tech and Design is an innovative hub at CU Boulder that fosters collaboration across multiple engineering pursuits. Beyond getting the degree, this program has been fundamental in developing my leadership skills through hands-on projects, teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration, and most importantly, creativity. As a student in the Atlas Institute, I have had the opportunity to lead project teams, lead classes as a Learning Assistant, become a Makerspace Technician, and engage in problem-solving activities, and participate in workshops that emphasize leadership in technical contexts. This experience has enhanced my ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams, manage projects, and think critically about complex challenges, all of which are essential skills for effective leadership in engineering and beyond.May 2025-June 2025
Break Through Tech is a national wide organization that aims to increase diversity in technology by providing underrepresented students with opportunities to gain experience and build networks in the tech industry. As a Sprintern at Google, I had the opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop my technical and leadership skills in a dynamic environment. This experience was pivotal in enhancing my understanding of the tech industry, improving my problem-solving abilities, and strengthening my communication and teamwork skills. It also reinforced my commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the tech sector, as I witnessed firsthand the value of diverse perspectives in driving innovation and success. HackCU is Colorado's largest student-run hackathon, bringing together students from various disciplines to collaborate on innovative tech projects and develop their skills in a competitive yet supportive environment. I have had the honor of being Director this year which has allowed me to further hone my leadership abilities by overseeing the planning and execution of the event, managing a diverse team of volunteers, and coordinating with sponsors and partners. This role has challenged me to think strategically, communicate effectively, and lead with empathy, ensuring that all participants have a positive and enriching experience. My involvement in HackCU has not only strengthened my technical skills but also reinforced my commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive community within the tech space through 3rd space development.Recently, my most impactful experiences have been being a part of HackCU, the Google Sprinternship, and being a Makerspace Technician in the Blow Things Up Lab in the Atlas Institute.
